Anniversary - 65 Years

December 21st, 2001 was a special date for Canção Nova Community, the Brazilian Catholic Charismatic Renewal and the whole Catholic Church: Father Jonas Abib completed 65 years of laborious fruitful life.

His Birthday was celebrated with a Prayer Day at Canção Nova Community with the special participation of Father Marcelo Rossi.

Father Jonas Abib is well known in Brazil and other countries for his courage and faith. He has done a great Evangelizing work in Brazil and significantly contributed to the mission of the Church. Many people are evangelized through his lectures announcing Jesus Christ; in his preaching, he invites people to believe in a New World built by people all over the world who have been renewed in their faith.

Father Jonas Abib is the founder of Canção Nova Community one of the main Catholic Organizations working in the field of mass media in Brazil, Canção Nova Communications System.

Today Canção Nova Community has 630 consecrated members: young men and women, seminarians, couples and priests who took their orders inside the Community.

There are 23 Mission Houses in Brazil and around the world: 3 in Europe - 2 in Portugal and1 in Italy - and one in the U.S.A..

TV, Radio and Internet integrate Canção Nova Communications System. Our signal reaches the three Americas, Western Europe and Northern Africa through repeaters, cable TV and satellite. Our Internet Portal is one of the most visited Catholic sites in the world: www.cancaonova.com in Portuguese and www.cancaonova.net in English. Canção Nova Radio, TV and Internet are a ring of evangelization all around the world.
